Brady Street is home to several great family-owned coffee shops and is also a great location to explore some smaller boutiques.
A local favorite is Colectivo (formerly Alterra). Drink hand-roasted coffee and then munch on any of their sweet fresh-baked goods. While it is a chain, their standout location is undoubtedly the shop on the lakefront near McKinley Park. Grab a coffee, sit outside on the terrace, and enjoy a relaxing view of Lake Michigan.

The enormous menu is all locally-sourced and provides enough variety to knock the socks off of even the pickiest of taste buds. Be sure to order the monkey bread to share with the table.
There is also an unspoken rivalry between two additional (and incredibly delicious) brunch spots in the city: Cafe Hollander versus Cafe Benelux. These European-influenced cafes start to get busy early and continue to maintain a crowd late into the evening. In addition to the beer chaser, the garnishes have become prize-worthy here. While a standard Bloody Mary is typically arrives with a stem of celery, Milwaukee ups the ante. Head to Sobelman’s for an absolutely absurd (read: awesome) Bloody Mary experience. You can order a Bloody Mary with an entire rotisserie chicken arriving on top of it.
